New from Vitamin Water: Sync and Ten Calorie Flavors

vitamin water syncvitamin water ten calorieNew products from Glaceau brand's Vitamin Water.

New Vitamin Water flavor
is called SYNC. It boasts berry-cherry flavors and is packed with vitamins and antioxidants.

Also new are Vitamin Water Ten Calorie beverages. Flavor options include popular flavors XXX and Energy.

Click ahead to see the nutrition facts on these new Vitamin Water offerings...

TEN CALORIE VITAMIN WATER:
vitamin water sync nutrition facts
*only ten calories. Same flavor and vitamins. The main difference is the addition of stevia. An all-natural calorie free sweetener. There is still crystalline fructose in the ingredients list. So it's not 'sugar-free'.

NEW SYNC FLAVOR VITAMIN WATER:
vitamin water nutrition label

The sync flavor has 25% vitamin E, which is a nice vitamin addition. It also has an addition of berry and fruit polyphenols. Polyphenols found in fruits may slow the aging process and provide support to neutralize free radicals.

I always like to see new flavors from the beverage folks. But I am not a big fan of the flavor of stevia, and the trend of using it in beverages does not thrill me. I will stick to the 50 calorie per serving Vitamin Water. My favorite flavor is Revive. I stick in it the freezer for a half hour and it comes out like a yummy slushy. So refreshing on a hot day or after a workout.

...but no, it doesn't beat coconut water, my number one favorite beverage.

Me and my friend came up with the flavor berry cherry, but I doubt that it was because of us that they came out with the flavor. I would like to believe it was us though.

I have tried all four flavors of the new 10 calorie vitamin water and for the most part, I love it! the energy flavor is not quite what I expected, but the lemonade and xxx are delicious!! Personally I feel better about them than other flavored waters!! As for the calories at 10 calories per serving in a twenty oz. 2.5 serving bottle (10x2.5) thats only 25 calories!! I don't worry about loading up on calories as I enjoy a few each day!

A large portion of the vitamins are photo-reactive, and as a result, are virtually useless to your body when consumed in vitamin water form. Then, considering that another large portion of the vitamins in Vitamin Water are fat soluble, you won't even get the benefit of them. Aside from that, it comes in a plastic bottle. I hardly see how that's "healthy". With every sip, you ingest plastic, not to mention the fact that it requires an insane of petroleum to produce the bottle. That's not my idea of a "yummy" drink.

Instead, why don't you just put a lemon slice and some tea into a jar or container of your choice and drink that? And for you sugar addicts out there, add some purvia or truvia.

I bought a case at Sam's Club thinking "How bad can it be? I love the regular Vitamin Water & I am a fan of diet beverages!" Well, big mistake. I find the diet version to be quite disgusting. I don't know how they sweetened it but it has a medicinal, chemical taste to it & the after taste is horrendous. It is so bad I don't know if I will even be able to drink the case I bought. With all the good tasting diet drinks on the market (like Gatorade G2 which tastes great) Vitamin Water really dropped the ball on this one. Blech!!

Hmm. I think you may have calculated wrong. I Vitamin Water (traditional flavors) has 125 calories per bottle. 50 calories per serving 2.5 servings per bottle. Not 250 calories as you mentioned.

So while 25 total calories vs. 125 calories may be a 100 calorie difference, it's not enough for me to switch to an artificially sweetened beverage. I rather take in the 100 calories of real fructose.

Thanks for the comment. VW should just list the total calories per bottle on the front! Because I always finish the whole bottle!

i drink a lot of vitamin water.
in response to the first comment, it doesnt cost a lot.
about $1 per bottle at most grocery stores.
and to kathy, the 10 cal bottles only hav 25 in the whole thing, vs 250 in the normal bottles, which does add up throughout the day, so it helps.

i love vitamin water, i'm even drinking the sync berry-cherry right now and it tastes awesome!

Flavored sugar-infused, partially filtered tap water with a little bit of vitamins added has proven perfect during my long runs. The combination of salts and carbs and the calorie count is perfect for me when I hit a hard 10 miles. I find Gatorade and Powerage too sweet and I usually need to bring my sugar levels up in a controlled manner. And Sync is tasty.

I agree that a sugar-containing beverage is OK once in a while. "Everything in moderation, including moderation."

I personally don't really get the ten calorie Vitamin Water. That's only knocking off 40 calories per serving. Which is not a lot in the grand scheme of a day.

Like I said, I do love those Revive Vitamin Waters once in a while. They taste good and are hydrating when I am craving a light beverage that's not water or coconut water (my fave).

    Thanks for the comment,

    Kathy

I don't understand why people feel the need to point out that VitaminWater has sugar. Were you once fooled into thinking it didn't? Did you drink one, thinking it was sugar-free, and then retch upon discovering that it wasn't? Also, do you have the same confusion about why people buy Gatorade? I thought it was because they get thirsty sometimes, and flavored beverages both taste good and quench thirst. Sure, let's be health-conscious, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a drink with sugar from time to time.

I don't get it. Why would anyone want to spend so much for flavored sugar-infused partially filtered tap water with a little bit of vitamins added? Doesn't sound healthy to me.
