Honeycrisp Apples: Super Fruit

by Kathy Patalsky · updated: Sep 30, 2019 · published: Dec 19, 2008 · About 1 minute to read this article. 6 Comments

So I am kind've obsessed with honeycrisp apples. Here in New York City, one medium sized honeycrisp from Whole Foods Market usually costs $1.69 each. And that's not even the organic variety which is $2.99 a pound.

Yet I still buy them!

Hands down, honeycrisp apples are the best eating apples around. So try one, not matter the price. And if you turn into a honeycrisp addict like me, so be it!

You can buy them, and learn more here. Makes a great gift even...

...well if you're giftee is me!

Mmm...I've never had a honeycrisp, but the name sure is appetizing. I spent a year WWOOFing on an apple farm in Canada, eating my fill of heritage organic Gravensteins, Cox Orange Pippins, Kidds, and Purple Spartans. For free! Also crunchy apple chips and awesome cider. The best apples I've ever eaten. You can't buy anything like them in stores. I miss them badly. If you ever get a chance to go to Vancouver, BC or Courtenay, BC check out Apple Lane Orchard's stand at the Farmer's Market. There's woofing in the US too: wwoofusa.org

they are the best apples. but who made them so pricey? Don't all apples come from trees. Makes me wonder what they do to make them so yummy!
